Aesthetix is proud to report that our work on telecom and security systems for the BCDS new control building at ADNOC Onshore has finished successfully. In cooperation with KENT, we have made this project a key moment in bringing advanced technology to the UAE’s energy infrastructure.

Modernizing Operational Oversight at a Strategic Energy Hub

Located some 160 kilometers southwest of Abu Dhabi, the Bab field is among ADNOC's most strategically prized upstream assets. At the heart of its operation is the BCDS, which de-associates the associated gas from the crude oil being produced from the field. ADNOC sends the processed oil for export, while the separated gas is forwarded to Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO) for further processing. Isolating the hydrocarbons is important to make sure they are handled properly and safely.

Following the construction of a brand-new, state-of-the-art control building, ADNOC Onshore aimed to modernize operational control and include increased resilience for the central facility. Aesthetix was responsible for the full design and engineering of the telecom and security systems in the building to satisfy ADNOC's high technical standards and the project's high-performance requirements.

Integrated Engineering for Seamless Communication and Safety

The new control building is BCDS' operational nerve. To be able to perform its critical function, Aesthetix designed and installed a full complement of coordinated systems, such as industrial, corporate, and public domain local area networks (LAN); a structured cabling system (SCS); and a high-speed fiber optic backbone for free data communication. These systems provide the foundation for a real-time monitoring and communication facility.

To ensure security and good operation in the desert, a complex CCTV system, IP, and dual analog/digital telephones and better GSM coverage were added. The company ensures only approved individuals can enter sensitive area,s and it also tracks its employees accurately using access and time recording systems, following strict ADNOC safety rules.

Aesthetix also had a Public Address and General Alarm (PAGA) system, which is at the very center of emergency communication and safety exercises. With AV and digital signage systems added, they now provide visual and auditory communications solutions for deployment in regular briefings, emergency alerts, and intra-company communications. Also added is a secure video conferencing system that enables high-definition communication with remote teams and stakeholders in order to maintain operational continuity and decision-making competency.

One of the key technical achievements of the project was also enhanced TETRA radio coverage. Through enhancing signal strength in both operations and peripheral zones within the building, Aesthetix delivered unbroken secure communication to field staff, which is critical to maintaining situational awareness and timely responses.

The project's successful completion not only illustrates Aesthetix's engineering capabilities but also consolidates its position as a trusted technology partner to oil and gas high-value, complex infrastructure. The systems installed are scalable, international standard compliant, and entirely in line with ADNOC's digital transformation strategy.
