Aesthetix is proud to announce its orchestral role in the development of the QAFCO 7 (Q7) Blue Ammonia Plant at Mesaieed, Qatar, in association with Thyssenkrupp Uhde.
QatarEnergy Renewable Solutions and QAFCO (Qatar Fertilizer Company) launched the QAFCO 7 plant, which is set to become the world’s largest Blue Ammonia Facility in Qatar. The plant is completely backed by Aesthetix through our comprehensive suite of advanced telecommunications and security infrastructure to form the digital backbone of the pivotal energy project.
Spearheading Qatar’s national drive for sustainable and low-carbon industrial development, the QAFCO 7 plant is a testament to innovation in clean energy production. Blue ammonia is a low-carbon-intensity fuel, a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels that produces fewer carbon dioxide emissions and is mainly used in marine, power, and industrial applications. The project was initiated in alignment with Qatar Fertilizer Company’s mission of supporting global decarbonization through responsible and sustainable production practices. Once completed, the plant will produce blue ammonia using low-carbon hydrogen derived from natural gas and carbon capture, utilization, and storage technologies.
Aesthetix’s scope of work in this infrastructure project comprises full design, engineering, assembly, integration, testing, and commissioning of resilient and secure telecommunications and security systems. These systems can be integrated properly with ease and assist in real-time monitoring and high-performance operations.
By deploying comprehensive and well-tailored solutions encompassing LAN systems, structured cabling, fiber optic backbones, CCTV, telephony, public address systems, and radio communications, Aesthetix ensures that all the systems work toward meeting the demands of the mission-critical industrial environment. Key communications and security systems delivered include:
Design: Our team planned and developed a roadmap that fits QAFCO 7's operational needs by enforcing future-proofing elements, environmental resilience, and guaranteed system availability through updated technologies.
Engineering: By precisely engineering the telecom and security systems and subsystems and aligning them to meet the international standards as well as client specifications, Aesthetix has implemented configurations to maximize performance, safety, and serviceability throughout the facility.
Assembly, Integration, Testing, and Commissioning of LAN Systems (Industrial, Corporate, Public): At QAFCO 7, we have installed three parallel LAN systems, which comprise Industrial, Corporate, and Public, to meet and support the specific workflows.
SCS (Structured Cabling System): With a well-planned and meticulously Structured Cabling System, Aesthetix has set up the physical foundation for all ICT systems that ensures high-speed data transfer, ease of maintenance, and extensive adaptability to meet future expansion needs.
FO (Fiber Optic) Backbone System: Aesthetix has installed high-capacity fiber optic backbones that form the digital spine of the QAFCO 7 facility, linking all the operational stations with high-speed and highly reliable data communications.
CCTV: With the intelligent surveillance system deployed by Aesthetix, the QAFCO 7 site is ensured 24/7 monitoring across all its zones for enhanced security, visibility, and rapid emergency responses, which is critical in an industrial environment.
IP and Digital/Analog Telephony System: We have installed an end-to-end telephony solution that integrates IP and digital/analog systems for reliable voice communication across all operational zones at the site. This is instrumental for real-time coordination and emergency communications.
PAGA (Public Address & General Alarm) System: The PAGA systems from Aesthetix were engineered for clear acoustic performance across the plant. It is a major part of the daily operations and emergency protocols, supporting the employee and plant safety.
Radio System: Our secure radio communication system ensures uninterrupted mobile communication between teams all across the plant, including mobile zones and hazardous areas.
With years of legacy in planning and delivering mission-critical communication systems across energy and industrial sectors, Aesthetix continues the mission of shaping the future of sustainable infrastructure. The QAFCO 7 project, one of our most ambitious and sustainably significant projects to date, reflects our commitment to digital innovation and engineering excellence.
